A Caldwell County was destroyed in an afternoon fire Wednesday.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says that crews responded to reports of a house fire at 1125 Rock Springs Road just before three. He adds that when crews arrived on scene the right side of the home was fully involved and was already collapsing.
Chief Francis notes that firefighters were able to stop the fire from advancing to the left side of the home but it was still considered a total structural loss.
He reports that the sole resident, Mary Wilson, was at home at the time of the blaze but was able to get out and was uninjured.
Chief Francis states the fire originated in the kitchen but the cause remains unknown.
