South West Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWKEDC) Executive Director Mark Lindsey tells the News Edge he is excited for a new job in the private sector.

Board of Directors Chair Lee Conrad announced Friday that Lindsey would be resigning effective in January.

Lindsey says the job recently became available.

Lindsey adds his last day with the EDC will be Friday, January 24.

Lindsey thanks the communities he has worked with over the last two years.

Lindsey spoke to the News Edge following the November monthly meeting Monday afternoon.

During the meeting, Ashley Wofford, of Calhoun and Company presented board members with the 2018-2019 audit report.

Wofford notes total revenues for the EDC were $591,000.

She adds the other $112,000 is collected through program income, industry appreciation, and TVA pass-through funding for Commerce Park in Hopkinsville and site due diligence.

Wofford says of the income collected, 72% of it is spent on supporting expenditures.

Board members approved the audit and discussed the recent efforts of the region following the sudden closure of Ebonite International.
