An original piece of downtown Cadiz history has been restored and put out for the community to admire and help a good cause.
Cadiz Police Department Chief Duncan Wiggins tells the News Edge he was given the number 50 parking meter after a theft investigation.
Wiggins notes the meter was repainted by Brad Claussen, with Klassy Kreations providing the graphics.
The meter will accept donations for a statewide organization.
Wiggins adds the idea for raising funds came after visiting Asheville, North Carolina and seeing meters accepting donations for needy and homeless people.
