Graham Details Opposition To Christian County Nickel Tax

The group opposing the proposed Christian County Schools nickel tax increase to fund a new Hopkinsville High School says more responsible maintenance and tighter spending could fund the proposed project.

Citizen’s Right to Vote on Tax Increases spokesman Mark Graham says the group is opposed to any tax increase to fund construction of a new building.

Graham admits there are problems with the school, but feels the issues can be repaired.

He adds the maintenance problems at the school are nothing new.

Graham says the Citizen’s Right to Vote on Tax Increases thinks there are some questions that need to be answered.

Graham adds they feel there is a better way to address long-term facility needs for the Christian County School District.

The question concerning the nickel tax increase will appear on the ballot in Christian County on Tuesday, November 5.
