Some damage was reported at the Jefferson Davis State Historic Site in Fairview after Saturday’s line of severe storms.

Park Manager David Smith tells the News Edge they lost several large, old trees and a pavilion was completely destroyed.

Smith adds there is no estimation on when the pavilion will be rebuilt.

The National Weather Service in Paducah has confirmed the damage was caused by straight-line winds. At some points during the storm, winds reached 100 MPH approximately 1,000 feet from the ground as it moved through Pembroke and Fairview.

The historical site is located near the Christian/Todd County line and about five miles northeast of Pembroke.
