Police: Man Found With Counterfeit Money In Hopkinsville

A Hopkinsville man was charged with forgery after police say he was using counterfeit money Sunday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 24-year-old Jason Godsey used counterfeit $20 bills to pay for a PlayStation and two games from someone on Facebook Market.

When police went to his home they allegedly found 34 fake $20’s, 3 fake $10’s along with a printer.

Godsey also reportedly used fake money to pay for $100 debit cards at a Dollar General in Corydon, Kentucky on August 20th.

Godsey was arrested on multiple warrants for failure to appear and is charged with first-degree forgery, two counts of theft, and two counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
