A Hopkinsville teenager was charged after police reportedly found a gun on him Monday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 18-year-old Detaevious Finch was found with a gun in his backpack after being stopped as police looked for a shooting suspect on North Iris Drive from a prior investigation.
Finch was reportedly asked about the whereabouts of the suspect in the shooting and said he was holding the gun for him.
Finch’s story and his mother’s story about when he was last with the suspect reportedly didn’t match.
He is charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, tampering with physical evidence and second-degree hindering prosecution.
