Congressman James Comer spoke during the Pennyrile Area Development District meeting Monday afternoon to update the community on Congressional actions that hit close to home.
Congressman Comer says obtaining an interstate designation for the Western Kentucky Parkway between I-69 and 165 is a priority for him to allow industrial growth.
He also says the I-69 bridge between Henderson and Evansville is another top priority. Congressman Comer notes he wants to focus on the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act as well.
He also addresses the U.S. decision to withdraw the remaining troops from northern Syria, which comes as Turkish forces are pushing further into the southern part of Syria.
President Trump is expected to announce new sanctions against Turkey soon.
