The Woodlands Nature Station in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area will celebrate Wolf Week beginning Saturday.
The Friends of Land Between the Lakes invites you to bring the family to Woodlands Nature Station during fall break and visit its resident endangered red wolves and join their “pack” of wolf admirers. LBL officials say you can attend special wolf programs offered each day from Saturday, October 5 through Friday, October 11. You can also join the red wolves for feeding time daily at 2:30 p.m., become a werewolf and more.
In addition, officials say you can help name the resident female red wolf to go along with the male wolf that is already named at the Woodlands Nature Station. Suggestions for an appropriate and educational name will be accepted through Sunday, October 6 by going to the Woodlands Nature Station’s Facebook page. Officials say you can also vote on the final names from October 7 through 12, with the winning name being announced during the Nation Station’s Woolly Bear Festival on Sunday, October 13.
Admission for Wolf Week if $5 for ages 13 and up, $3 for ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.
The Woodlands Nature Station is located at 3146 Silver Trail Road in LBL.
