Dog Killed, Firefighter Injured In Oak Grove House Fire

A firefighter was injured and a dog was killed in a house fire on Stableford Lane  in Oak Grove Thursday morning.

Oak Grove Fire Department Deputy Chief Bill Laux said they believe the fire started in the garage and spread to the home.

Firefighters were able to get three dogs out of the home but one of the owner’s dogs was killed in the fire.

Laux said a firefighter was taken to the hospital by ambulance for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

According to Laux, the house was severely damaged and the residents will have to stay elsewhere.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Oak Grove Fire Department was assisted by Pembroke, Herndon and Fort Campbell fire departments.
