The men hoping to replace Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Bill Cunningham will debate the issues in Hopkinsville Wednesday, October 16.
The Christian County League of Women Voters will host a Supreme Court Justice Candidate Forum October 16 at 4:30 in the City Council chambers at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center.
Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Shea Nickell of Paducah and Third District State Senator Whitney Westerfield of Hopkinsville are vying for the first district seat on the Kentucky Supreme Court. The winner of the election will fill the remainder of Justice Cunningham’s term on the state’s high court.
Justice David Buckingham of Murray was appointed to serve on the Supreme Court until the election can be held November 5 to decide who will fill the remainder of the term. Buckingham did not decide to seek a spot on the high court.
