The Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for felony assault and strangulation Friday morning.
18-year old Jessica Marie Over of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree assault. The arrest warrant states on April 16 a female victim confronted Over after she saw her breaking her lawn decorations. Over allegedly hit the victim in the head with a concrete rabbit, pulled her to the ground and bit her arm, and then hit her with a chair. Police say the victim suffered several injuries and required multiple staples in her head and multiple stitches in her arm. Over was arrested on the warrant on May 9th and booked into the Christian County Jail.
The grand jury indicted 40-year old Willie Lewis Coleman of Hopkinsville for second-degree assault. The charge stems from December 2018 when Coleman is accused of punching a male in the face and kicking him, causing the victim to receive six stitches in his face. Coleman was arrested on a warrant on July 9 and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
And a Fort Campbell soldier, 24-year old Robert Tyson of Hopkinsville, was indicted for first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree domestic assault. Hopkinsville Police report that on July 31 at a home on South Clay Street Tyson applied pressure on the throat or neck of his wife, affecting her breathing. Police say the victim had redness and marks around her neck and throat, along with a scratch to her right knee but refused medical treatment. Tyson was taken into custody and booked into the Christian County Jail.
