The Christian Country Grand Jury returned indictments Friday for theft of mail and theft by unlawful taking.
26-year old Taylor Honea of Hopkinsville was indicted on theft of mail matter, knowingly receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of a defaced firearm, and possession of marijuana while armed. The charges stem from two incidents, one of which occurred on June 10th when Honea was allegedly found in possession of a stolen Xbox and DVD player from a residence where he had been hanging out. The arrest warrant says Honea asked the resident if he wanted to get rid of the Xbox and he said no. Later that day, the resident went to Clarksville and when he returned he discovered that someone had pulled out the window air conditioning unit at the back of his residence and his Xbox, DVD player and tablet were missing. The resident reportedly asked Honea about the missing items and he denied taking the items but then later returned the items with the exception of the tablet.
The second incident occurred on August 20th when police reported Honea was caught on a surveillance camera taking a package off of a doorstep on Kelby Court in Hopkinsville.
The grand jury also indicted 19-year old Kaitlyn Robinson of Hopkinsville for theft by unlawful taking of a controlled substance under $10,000, two counts of theft by unlawful taking (firearm), theft by unlawful taking over $500 but under $10,000, and third-degree criminal mischief. Hopkinsville Police report Robinson was staying at a home while the residents were away on vacation between June 27 and June 30 and when they returned home they found a man sitting on the sofa. When they asked the residents asked the man who he was, he ran out of the house and allegedly stole a BMX bike.
When the residents took inventory of the home, the police report says they found that every room, closet, and storage area had been rummaged through and two handguns, multiple items of jewelry, and clothing were missing, as well as prescription pills. There was also allegedly a hole in the sheetrock in a bedroom and a large stuffed animal had been cut open with a knife. When the residents asked Robinson who the people were she had invited into her home, she allegedly gave them several names but would not give them addresses or any additional information. Police reported when they questioned Robinson she invoked her Miranda rights. She was arrested and booked into the Christian County Jail.
