Duncan Wiggins Named Cadiz Police Chief

Cadiz Police Major Duncan Wiggins will be the next Cadiz Police Chief.

Cadiz City Council voted unanimously to hire Wiggins following an executive session during Tuesday’s council meeting.

Mayor Todd King says he is excited about Wiggins taking over leadership of the department.

Mayor King says he is looking to Chief Wiggins to lead his department to a stronger relationship with the community.

With two openings at the police department, Major Wiggins says he plans to focus on hiring qualified officers and keeping them.

Wiggins began serving with the Cadiz Police Department 25 years ago.  His first assignment was at the police substation in the Housing Authority of Cadiz.  He frequently patrolled the housing authority on a bicycle in his early days.

Wiggins replaces Chad Grace, who resigned as Chief August 20.
