A Hopkinsville man was charged after he reportedly assaulted a woman and attempted to strangle her Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say they went to Linn Street for a 911 hangup and found Cheryl Haskins who stated 36-year-old William Womack had tossed around furniture in the home and assaulted Haskins by putting his hands around her throat.
He is charged with second-degree strangulation.
