Former Governor Helps Cut New HCC Building Ribbon

 

The new Hopkinsville Community College Emerging Technologies building officially opened Thursday afternoon with the help of former Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear.

Governor Beshear told a large crowd the building has been a long time coming for the college and was made possible by the community support of the Build Smart initiative.

The former Governor noted an educated workforce is one of the main priorities for business and industry that are looking at a community.

Jennie Stuart Health President and CEO Eric Lee noted the building will play a large role in providing future health care needs.

HCC Build Smart Co-Chair Eston Glover noted the building is the result of a true partnership.

Co-Chair Terri Henderson read a poem emphasizing the importance to students who will learn in the building.

Also speaking during the ceremony were Christian County Judge Executive Steve Tribble, Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks and Hopkisville Community College President Dr. Allissa Young.
