The Trigg County Highway Maintenance Crew has closed a section of Highway 126/Cobb Road near Cerulean due to the formation of a sinkhole.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says crews had been patching between the 1 and 2-mile marker northwest of Cerulean. He adds after each round of patching, the pothole would reappear after a few days.
The Trigg County crew evaluated the site Wednesday morning and found a hole smaller than a soccer ball that appeared to lead into a sinkhole.
The site will remain closed for up to two days while crews fill it. Todd reports there will be no marked detour, but motorists may self-detour via Highway 128/Wallonia Road and Highway 124/Cerulean Road.
