The South West Kentucky Economic Development Council (SWK EDC) was recently presented a Corporate Investment and Community Impact award from the Trade and Industry Development magazine.
EDC Executive Director Mark Lindsey shared the news during their monthly meeting Monday afternoon. He notes the award was received due to their work in recruiting a Todd County factory.
He adds there are other entities that also received an award.
In other news, Lindsey says they are among twenty-two other finalists for up to $500,000 in a Product Development Grant from the state of Kentucky for an economic development initiative.
In upcoming events, the EDC will host their annual Pride of the Pennyrile on September 26 at Lake Barkley State Resort Park. The event is held to say thanks to businesses and industries for the contributions they have made in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties.
