Severe Thunderstorm Causes Damage In Christian County

No one was injured when a severe thunderstorm caused damage to a mobile home, a shed, and a business Tuesday night.

Christian County Weather Spotter Coordinator David Powell told the News Edge on the scene a large tree limb destroyed a shed, and damaged a mobile home on Yoakum Circle.

Powell said the National Weather Service will determine what caused the damage.

The storm also caused roof damage to a warehouse on Gilbert Drive.

Multiple power outages, along with limbs and trees were reported down, with a large tree causing power lines to fall and block Pennyrile Parkway at the 25-mile marker, temporarily shutting down both lanes.

Meanwhile, Trigg County Emergency Manager David Bryant tells the News Edge that no damage was reported throughout the county.

The storms packed some strong winds, with Kentucky Mesonet sites reporting maximum wind gusts over 50 mph in Caldwell and Hopkins counties.
