Fiscal Court Approves Annual Contract With Christian Co. Animal Shelter

Trigg County magistrates approved an annual service contract with the Christian County Animal Shelter Monday night.

Before getting to business, Sheriff Jason Barnes said a prayer for the families who lost loved ones during mass shootings over the weekend in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander says the annual contract with Christian County is similar to what they have signed in the past.

Trigg County Animal Control officer Torrie Young transports numerous animals to the shelter, with well over 100 taken in July.

Magistrates unanimously approved the service contract.

In other business, members approved a resolution designating the Cadiz-Trigg County Industrial Authority to receive all funds from the Tennessee Valley Authority as a part of the Regional Development Agency Assistance Program.

Magistrates also re-appointed Dr. Michael Gross to the Trigg County Hospital Board. Gross serves as a chairman for the board and was supposed to be re-appointed for the four-year term by the county in September 2018, with the term to expire on September 30, 2022.
