Hopkinsville Man Arrested On Warrant For Trafficking Meth

A Hopkinsville man was arrested on warrants after police were called to the area to check his welfare Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 52-year-old Clifford Chester was found hiding behind a truck and concealing his hand at Pennyrile Apartments when police arrived.

Chester reportedly told the police to shoot him before they were able to arrest him.

Police believe he was under the influence of some kind of substance and was a danger to himself.

Chester is charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He also had outstanding warrants for trafficking meth and persistent felony offender.
