On the heels of Haddock’s Grocery store in Hopkinsville closing after seventy years of business, the News Edge has learned Dollar General will be opening a new store nearby.
Public Relations Coordinator Angela Petkovic says the new store will be built at 1207 East 9th Street, next to the Travel Inn. She adds the store is expecting to host a grand opening in late fall, with the creation of up to ten jobs.
This will make the seventh Dollar General location within the Hopkinsville city limits and the eleventh store in Christian County. Petkovic notes the chain focuses on convenience and they generally serve customers within a three to five-mile radius, or up to a 10-minute drive.
