Trigg County Public Schools Accept Donation From FNB Bank

During the Trigg County Board of Education meeting Thursday evening, members accepted a donation from a regional bank and discussed the upcoming step of setting up a screening committee for the Superintendent search.

In exciting news for the district, FNB Bank employees Kyle Hensley and Penny Jones presented the board with a nearly $12,500 check from 2nd quarter of donations courtesy of their Spirit Debit Card program. Interim Superintendent Tim McGinnis commended the bank for their partnership with the district.

Every time someone makes a credit purchase with a signature with the Spirit Debit Card the school district receives a 10-cent donation from FNB Bank. The bank has donated well over $171,000 to Trigg County Schools since the inception of the program seven and a half years ago.

During the Superintendent’s report, McGinnis told board members once school starts they will begin taking nominees for the two teachers, one classified staff member, and at least one parent for the screening committee.

He notes voting will start quickly after the nomination period is over.

The intent is to have the committee in place by Friday, August 23, so the next step can begin in the search process. All school principals gathered and collectively chose Brian Futrell to serve on the committee for the principal committee member.

The search for a new leader of the district comes after Travis Hamby stepped down from the position on July 1 to become the leader of the Allen County School District.
