Elam Selected As Freedom Elementary Principal

A McCracken County school administrator will serve as the Principal at Freedom Elementary School.

Christian County Schools Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill announced Wednesday night that Renisha Elam has been appointed as Freedom Principal. Elam comes to Freedom from Paducah Middle School, where she served as Assistant Principal for two years.

Elam began her career as a Speech Pathologist at Ripley Primary School. When she returned to Kentucky, Elam served as a Speech Pathologist in Fulton City, Hickman, Calloway, Fulton, and Christian Counties, along with the Easterseals. She began teaching English and reading a Hopkinsville High School in 2008 and transitioned to the Christian County Central Office in 2015, where she worked as a Grant Facilitator/Intervention Consultant.

Elam is a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and Murray State University. She and her husband Mancell Elam have two sons, TJ of Louisville and Xavier, who is a fourth-grade student at Millbrooke Elementary School.
