Friends of Hopkinsville Library Gives Update at Kiwanis

The president of Friends of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Library, Toni Riley, spoke at the Kiwanis meeting Thursday to provide information on the work they’re doing for the community.

Riley says their goal is to support the library through programming, volunteering, funding, and advocacy. She adds their main source of fundraising is small business memberships.

She shared several interesting statistics about library growth including that they circulate 11,850 books monthly, serve 600 patrons daily, and process 26 passports each month. The library has several projects they are looking to accomplish that does not fit in their budget. Riley says this is where Friends of the Library come in.

She says we must value and provide education to our youth to grow a strong community.
