The Friendship House will host a special ceremony in October to give out Korean War medallions to veterans or their families.
Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs Brigadier General Ben Adams tells the News Edge the Korean government has been very supportive of veterans that served during the three-year war.
He adds it’s getting hard to find Korean War veterans.
Friendship House Professional Service Coordinator Lela Hale says it’s important to her to host this event.
Applications for the medallions can be picked up at the Friendship House on Faulkner Drive in Hopkinsville. Hale adds veterans can even be posthumously honored and is hoping for a large turnout for the special ceremony.
