First Local Trail Life Troop to Hold Open House

Restoration House in Hopkinsville will be hosting the first local Trail Life troop next month to share information on their organization that offers unique, faith-based opportunities for boys.

Brenden Couchman with Troop 5812 spoke with the News Edge to give details on the mission of Trail Life. He shared how Trail Life grew out of Boy Scouts with the intention of being more faith-based and ministry-oriented.

Couchman added this is the first troop founded in the local area. It began last summer and consists of 15-20 boys from kindergarten to 12th grade.He gave a preview of the activities the troop will be involved in, such as small camping trips, with hopes to expand to larger events and activities.

Couchman also spoke on the open house to be hosted by Restoration House next month, saying it will offer an opportunity for sign-ups and a preview of what their weekly meetings might hold.

The open house will be held Monday evening on August 19th at 6:00 at Restoration House. For more information be sure to check out the troop’s Facebook page.
