Hopkinsville Man Found With Drugs After Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man with an outstanding warrant for fleeing from police was arrested Sunday afternoon after fleeing from them again.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Walnut Street for a woman who reported her car tires being slashed by 28-year-old David Owens.

The woman’s car tires were not damaged but when police arrived Owens fled on foot. Owens was arrested and a bag of synthetic drugs was found in the area where he was hiding.

Owens was also wanted for fleeing from police on June 24th when they stopped him on East 3rd Street in a vehicle for not having a license plate.

A woman in the vehicle on June 24th identified Owens as the driver that fled and synthetic drugs were found in the vehicle.

Owens is charged with two counts of second-degree fleeing or evading police along with two counts of possession of synthetic drugs.

He was also arrested on warrants for failure to appear and contempt of court.
