Police Say Vehicle Sale Leads To Shooting Threat

A Hopkinsville man was charged with terroristic threatening after he allegedly threatened to shoot another man on Cave Run Drive Monday afternoon.  Hopkinsville Police say 43-year-old John Hill pulled his shirt up revealing a gun and threatened to shoot a man over the sale of a vehicle.

Hill was located in the area of Tomcat Lane after the victim gave police a description of Hill and the vehicle he was in. The gun used in the argument was also found behind a shed.

During the investigation, 35-year-old Heather Scoggings who was also on Tomcat Lane was found to have a stolen identification card and social security card.

Hill is charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and third-degree terroristic threatening. Scoggings was charged with receiving stolen property. Hill also had outstanding warrants for failure to appear and probation violation.
