Authorities have released the details of a fatal wreck that occurred on Interstate 69 in Marshall County Monday morning.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says Brian Chappell of Livermore was driving a semi loaded with crushed cars and traveling southbound on I-69 when the truck entered the median, came back up onto the road and overturned. He adds both lanes were blocked by the trailer and Philip Givans of Gilbertsville, who was also traveling southbound, was unable to stop in time and crashed into the overturned trailer.
Deputies say Chappell was pronounced dead at the scene and Givans was transported by ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries.
