New details have emerged regarding a teenager that drowned near Cerulean Thursday.

Kentucky Fish & Wildlife Public Information Officer Kevin Kelly tells the News Edge witnesses to the incident say 17-year old Zachary Cheatham was among five people at the quarry when the drowning occurred.

Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson says emergency officials were called to the Cerulean Rock Quarry on Cobb Road for a possible drowning just before noon and after hours of searching Cheatham’s body was located.

The drowning is believed to have been accidental but is still being investigated by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife and Trigg County Coroner’s Office.
