The Cadiz Police Department has released the name of a man that was arrested after he was involved in a domestic incident Friday morning.
Police were called to Cunningham Avenue around 8:15 regarding an altercation between a man and a woman. A witness reported to police 35-year old Johnathon Svinning of Cadiz grabbed a woman by the neck and threw her to the ground and laid on top of her.
When officers arrived, both were found lying down in thick brush behind the witnesses house. Officers asked both to come out of the brush and the man became belligerent and began yelling at police. Svinning reportedly lunged at officers and was forced to the ground and taken into custody immediately.
The woman had visible minor injuries to her face and lip following the incident.
Svinning is charged with 4th-degree assault and 2nd-degree disorderly conduct.
