A well-known and longtime Hopkinsville Funeral Director has been honored by The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky.
Alan W. Beard, Senior Partner in Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home in Hopkinsville and Dogwood Funerals & Cremations in Crofton, was recently presented with a certificate recognizing his 50 years of service as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Beard is still active in the operation of both firms.
He says he does not plan to retire but has slowed down some since Frank Giles became a partner in 2015. He says he does his best to attend most every funeral.
