A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed Kentucky 272 and Kentucky 1062 at the US 68/80 intersection in Trigg County.
Spokesman Keith Todd reports the intersection will remain closed for the next three weeks to allow for placement of a culvert and complete the connections to the new section of US 68/80. He adds there will be a marked detour via Kentucky 1075/Old Dover Road and that the new section of 68/80 will remain open near the intersection.
The work is part of a $54 million project to construct around 8 miles of new four-lane highway between Cadiz and Canton. The active work zone includes flaggers to control traffic where construction equipment may be working on the new roadway.
