Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges for Hopkinsville Man

A Hopkinsville man was charged with DUI and tampering with evidence after a traffic stop on East 18th Street Saturday. Hopkinsville Police say 26-year-old Jamarcus Spates was stopped after he was seen driving recklessly and found to have marijuana and a scale in the vehicle.

Police reportedly could not perform a sobriety test because he became combative.

He is charged with possession of marijuana, DUI, and tampering with physical evidence.
