Hopkinsville Man Arrested After Fleeing From Princeton Police

A Hopkinsville man was arrested on various charges, including fleeing and evading, following a traffic stop in Princeton Monday afternoon.

Princeton police report officers stopped a vehicle on North Harrison Street for canceled registration just after 2:30. Police say an investigation revealed that the driver’s license of 47-year-old Jeffrey Watkins was suspended. When officers tried to arrest Watkins he reportedly fled on foot but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

Watkins was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail charged with no registration plates, no insurance first offense, driving on a DUI suspended license first offense, resisting arrest, and second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot.
