A Hopkinsville man was charged with assault and a woman was charged with neglect after a fight on Sharpe Street Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the home for a possible burglary after 36-year-old David Graham choked his ex-wife 23-year-old Patricia Hathaway of New York as she was sleeping.
When police arrived Graham would not exit the home and told police they would have to come get him.
As police entered the home they could reportedly see a marijuana pipe in the home that Hathaway’s 1-year-old child was staying in.
The child was also found to have a busted lip after police noticed blood on Hathaway’s shirt.
Graham was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault. Hathaway was cited for abuse or neglect of a child.
