Two Hopkinsville Women Charged With Trafficking Meth

A report of shoplifting led police to arrest two women on trafficking meth charges at the Dollar General on North Main Street Thursday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 45-year-old Misty Samples and 30-year-old Sara Newman were found with items from the store, a fake gun, pills, and meth.

Police had to cut Newman’s purse to get it away from her and found several individual bags of meth, a pipe, and butcher knife inside.

Both women would not follow commands by police.

They are both charged with first-degree trafficking meth and shoplifting. Newman was also charged with resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon and public intoxication.
