Trigg County Community Prepares For Memorial Day

Memorial Day is fast approaching and the Trigg County community is beginning to make preparations to honor fallen veterans.

American Legion Post 74 spokesman Curt Holmes says they will begin placing flags in cemeteries soon.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday for remembering and honoring persons who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Holmes adds we need to not only honor veterans who have died in past wars, but those who are still on the battlefield today.

Holmes says be sure to watch for the field of flags coming up in June. The Field will be in place by Flag Day, June 14 and will be up until the weekend after the July 4th holiday.
