Man Charged With Rape and Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man was charged with rape and fleeing or evading police Wednesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say a 32-year-old man reportedly enticed a woman to an area out of the public’s view on the rail to trail then assaulted her and forced her to have intercourse.

The suspect was later identified from the video footage from the rail trail and when police attempted to arrest him he fled on foot and made threats towards officers.

The man is charged with first-degree rape, second-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest and first-degree disorderly conduct.
