Motion Filed To Revoke Former Deputy’s Pretrial Diversion

A court date has been set for next month after a motion was filed to revoke the felony pretrial diversion for former Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Tucker after he allegedly failed to make restitution to juvenile services.

According to court documents, Special Prosecutor Justin Crocker of Franklin filed the motion last week in Christian Circuit Court. The motion states Tucker failed to make restitution payments as required under the terms of the felony pretrial diversion. Tucker was originally charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 but under $1 million.  As part of the plea deal reached in February, he entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500 but under $10,000. Tucker’s five-year sentence was diverted but he was required to serve 180 days in jail and pay restitution of $55,000 to the Christian County Juvenile Services Foundation where he formerly served as president. The jail’s website shows Tucker was incarcerated on February 25 and remains lodged in the Christian County Jail.

Tucker’s new court date is set for Wednesday afternoon, May 22, at 1:00 before Circuit Judge Andrew Self.
