Guthrie Man Charged With Trafficking Drugs

A Guthrie man was charged with trafficking marijuana after a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 22-year-old Kelvin Garrett was stopped after he reportedly failed to use a turn signal as he turned onto Poplar Street from East 19th Street.

During the traffic stop police could reportedly smell marijuana and Garrett admitted to having 18 grams in the vehicle.

Police also found a gun loaded with restricted ammunition in a Crown Royal bag along with money and a scale.

Garrett is charged with trafficking marijuana, failure to use turn signal and using restricted ammo during a felony. He is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
