Suspects In Carjacking And Officer Shooting Indicted Friday

Four suspects charged in connection to a carjacking that led to the shooting of a Hopkinsville Police officer in February were indicted by the Christian County Grand Jury Friday.

Keith Kuzyk was indicted for attempted murder, first-degree assault of a police officer, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree fleeing and evading police and other offenses related to the carjacking. Autumn Neblett, September Neblett, and Anthony Johnson are facing a receiving stolen property over $10,000 offense. Johnson was also charged with first degree fleeing or evading police, and Autumn and September were additionally charged with first-degree complicity to robbery. Autumn was also indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Autumn Neblett

The charges stem from February 18, 2019 when police said the four were involved in an armed carjacking at Walmart on Clinic Drive, which led to a police pursuit on North Drive. During the pursuit, police reported Kuzyk fired multiple shots at Officer Jeremy Davidson, hitting him in the arm and grazing his head. Police arrested Autumn Neblett when she was found with an assault rifle, hiding in a dugout on the campus of University Heights Academy. The other three suspects were arrested in Montgomery County, Tennessee later that night.

September Neblett

After he was shot, Officer Davidson was transported to a Nashville hospital where he was treated for his gunshot wounds and released the following day.

Anthony Johnson

Earlier this month, Kuzyk and Johnson were indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to the carjacking.

Johnson and Autumn and September Neblett are lodged in the Christian County Jail, while Kuzyk is still being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
