The Christian County Grand Jury Friday indicted a former daycare worker charged in January with the alleged abuse of two infants.
Allison Simpson of Hopkinsville was indicted on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12-years of age. An arrest warrant filed by Hopkinsville Police says Simpson allegedly subjected an 8-month old and a 10-month old to cruel care and confinement on January 10 of this year at the daycare at First United Methodist Church. The incident reportedly placed both babies in substantial danger of serious physical injury. Police said the incidents were captured on video. Simpson was arrested on January 30 after police investigated the incident.
The grand jury also indicted Creadell Edward Hubbard on numerous charges including first-degree wanton endangerment, first degree fleeing or evading police, possession of a handgun by convicted felon, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The multiple charges stem from two incidents. He was arrested during a traffic stop on April 1, 2018, on Fort Campbell Boulevard and charged with DUI and other offenses. During a pat-down, officers reportedly found a concealed handgun in the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt, along with a plastic baggie containing ten more rounds of .45 caliber ammunition.
Police report Hubbard was also arrested on February 19, 2019, after officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of East 21st Street and Hubbard failed to stop when officers tried to conduct a traffic stop. Officers pursued Hubbard until he wrecked the vehicle near the dead end of Babb Lane. Hubbard was reportedly found in possession of a stolen .40 caliber handgun and an AR-15 rifle while being a convicted felon.
Tiffany Nicole Gray of Hopkinsville was indicted for second-degree assault- domestic violence. The charge stems from February 11 when Hopkinsville Police responded to a disturbance and discovered that Gray had assaulted her daughter with a baseball bat, causing injury to her arm.
And Michael Eugene Sims was indicted on a charge of first degree attempted robbery. Hopkinsville Police report Sims pointed a 9 mm handgun, with seven rounds in the magazine, to the forehead of the victim with the intent to rob the victim on Witty Lane.
