Eastbound I-24 Tennessee River Bridge To Be Closed Wednesday Night

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning an overnight closure of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 on Wednesday.

Public Information Officer Keith Todd reports the eastbound lanes will be closed at the Tennessee River Bridge at the 30-mile marker at the Livingston/Marshall County line. He adds traffic will be detoured beginning at the US 62/Calvert City – Exit 27 and will get back on to the interstate at KY 453/Grand Rivers – Exit 31.

This closure is the fourth of about eight overnight closures that are required to facilitate the installation of new joints on the bridge. Once this concrete pour is completed, Todd says the contractor anticipates another overnight closure in about ten days, weather permitting.
