A bridge that takes motorists between Wickliffe, Kentucky and Cairo, Illinois across the Ohio River will be closed for nearly two weeks due to flooding.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd reports the bridge located along U.S. Highway 51 is expected to remain closed through March 6. The bridge which typically sees 4,700 vehicles crossing it daily will force drivers to take an 80-mile detour via Interstate 24 on the Ohio River Bridge at Paducah.
