Vehicle Theft Suspect Apprehended In Montgomery County

A man being sought in Montgomery County for felony evading and two vehicle thefts was apprehended by multiple law enforcement agencies Friday.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Sandra Brandon reports 32-year old Dustin Ryan Williams was taken into custody at noon in the Woods Road area. She says authorities had received tips Friday morning that a man matching the description of Williams was seen wrapped in a blanket exiting a camper and deputies and investigators were conducting a search in the 5300 block of Highway 12.

Brandon reported Thursday Williams was a suspect in three vehicle thefts and a person of interest in a vehicular assault that occurred that morning at the Kroger gas station on Lowe’s Drive when a man driving a stolen vehicle fled after a verbal altercation with the attendant. As the man was fleeing the scene, police say he ran over a 59-year old woman, hitting her legs and hips. She was taken to Tennova Medical Center in Clarksville for treatment. Authorities have not said whether Williams was the man in the stolen vehicle, only that he was a person of interest.

Williams was lodged in the Montgomery County Jail under a $175,000 bond.
