Two Cadiz residents were arrested after allegedly stealing vehicle batteries from an auto parts store Monday morning.
The Cadiz Police Department reports they were dispatched to Cadiz Auto Parts before noon after receiving a report of multiple batteries being taken from the store during business hours. 35-year old Donald Imbush was reportedly distracting employees while 29-year old Russell Lancaster took batteries out of the store. Both men were later located near the Trigg-Christian County line after they had attempted to sell the batteries to a scrap yard in Hopkinsville and were denied.
Lancaster was charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500, while Imbush is facing receiving stolen property under $500, operating on a suspended license, and other charges. Both men were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
