Ft. Campbell Soldier Killed In Syria Laid To Rest Monday

A Fort Campbell soldier killed last month in Syria was laid to rest in Florida Monday morning.

On Friday, Governor Matt Bevin ordered that all U.S. and Kentucky flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff Monday in honor of 37-year old Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jonathan R. Farmer, of Boynton Beach, Florida.

Chief Warrant Officer Farmer was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Campbell. He died January 16, 2019, in Manbij, Syria as a result of wounds sustained from a suicide improvised explosive device.

Services for Chief Warrant Officer Farmer were held Monday morning at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
