NWS Issues Wind Advisory For Thursday

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Wind Advisory in effect until 6:00 Thursday evening for western Kentucky.

Meteorologists indicate winds will be out of the southwest around 20 mph with gusts of 35 to 45 mph at times, which can cause unsecured objects to be tossed around outdoors. With the recent rainfall and wet soil conditions, trees with weakened root systems may be more prone to being uprooted.

In addition, drivers of high profile vehicles may encounter difficulty driving especially on east-west roadways.

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are expected to reach 30 mph or greater for longer than one hour, or wind gusts are expected to reach 40 mph for any duration.
